The world is full of fear, pessimism, and negativity, and the enemy wants us to think and act this way. He wants to rob us of creativity and to stop what is in us from flowing out. The devil warns, “you can’t, you mustn’t, it won’t work, it’s impossible,” throwing up barriers in our minds, emotions and will. We begin to entertain negative thoughts: “it’s not working for me, only for others. I’ll never attain that, I’m bound to fail.” This paralyses us and causes us to use but a fraction of our God-given creativity. However, we can overthrow the devil’s strongholds and be free. We need to use God’s mighty weapons!

What are our weapons? Our weapons are songs of praise and joy in the Lord. They are the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel on our feet, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. With these weapons we demolish pretentious arguments, bulwarks, and strongholds deeply entrenched in our minds. We demolish every thought that suggests God is against us. Condemnation, confusion, self-rejection and defeatism are all wiped out.

In their place, God establishes His thought patterns. Our minds are fortified. We form an accurate image of God and what he wants to do for us. We see Him as a kind and loving Father, a righteous and omnipotent God who keeps His promises. In both our spirit and soul a new picture of God takes shape and becomes a mighty fortress, impenetrable to the enemy. Instead of unstable roller-coaster thoughts and feelings, our minds become establish and settled. We put on the helmet of salvation to protect our thoughts, and those childhood dreams and fantasies, which we scarcely dared ponder, become the launching pads that will one day send a rocket to the moon.

Everything starts with a tiny thought, which we hardly dare believe. God always gives us hope and encourages us. Things we thought were impossible now become possible and plausible with God. This is how God’s work starts. We receive a word from heaven; you begin to dream, fantasize and picture it in our imagination. Soon it is real to us, whether we see if before our eyes or not. God begins to act upon the vision until it one day stands there, a manifested reality. We must allow God’s life, zoé, to fill our minds, and allow the Holy Spirit to inspire our dreams and fantasizes. Then our soul life, zoé, will be what God intends it to be, and there will be no limit to what we can achieve. All things are possible to him who believes.

We can all try, to do the best we can, but consequentially we know, in our hearts of hearts, that we can only do so much for we are indeed limited by who we are. Try and think of it this way, if you could get yourself out of dire straits, wouldn’t you have had the foresight and capacity to keep from falling into it in the first place? There are those who live from experiences yet others choose the wiser path in trusting in One who has been through it all; One who loves us and cares for us without measure, for He does avail Himself to all who seek Him, to bless us with abundant and jubilant lives.

Eventually, we all need to learn to have the grace and humility to allow ourselves to be helped for truly we need to be saved from ourselves. All that we think and do has led us thus far, so it proves the adage: what you see is what you get, and that a leopard can never change its spots. In all our intellectualism and arrogance we can only journey so far, to go further, to triumph over our predicaments and all the carnal limitations and temptations that beset us each and every time, we need to have a humble and contrite heart to ask for help from on high. May it not be hubris that crafts our inevitable demise for there is hope offered to all who allow themselves to be saved.

Guys, do message me or something ok if you’d like to talk about things? By the way I recommend these two excellent books: Sigmund Brouwer – The Unrandom Universe, and Ulf Ekman – Your Capacity In God. Oh by the way I come from City Harvest Church and the website is:

“He gives more grace when the burdens grow greater
He sends more strength when the labours increase
To added affliction He added His mercy
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace
When we have exhausted our store of endurance
When our strength has failed and the day is half done
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving has only begun
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure
His powers has no boundaries known unto men
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He gives and gives and gives again…”
